For more than two decades, I've helped grow Switch from a small web business into the integrated consultancy it is today. What started from my own personal fascination for technology and innovation has grown into a team spanning strategy, communications, digital, marketing and brand, all connected by a shared ambition to deliver brilliant work for our clients.
In the early days, innovation meant leading the way by building our own content management system because open source platforms like WordPress simply didn't exist or weren't a viable option at that stage of their feature maturity. Since then, I've continually evolved the business, expanding our expertise from technical web development into creative, digital and strategic communications, always with one goal in mind: helping clients achieve meaningful commercial results, not just vanity metrics.
One of the reasons I started Switch was simple. I wanted to make a living doing something I genuinely enjoyed and surround myself with people who felt the same about their own crafts and skills. That passion for expertise still defines who we are today. People join Switch because they want to work alongside other experts, continually learn, explore new ideas and experience the variety that comes from working across different sectors. No two days are ever the same.
Today, my role is split between leading the business as CEO and heading up our web team. It's an exciting time. AI, emerging technologies and the constantly changing digital landscape are creating huge opportunities, but also more choice than ever before. I love helping our clients navigate that complexity, understand the opportunities and make informed decisions that support their long-term growth.
What I enjoy most is seeing our clients achieve meaningful success and seeing our team genuinely proud of the work they've delivered and celebrating that success with them. I'm equally passionate about the role Switch plays in our local communities, supporting initiatives across Jersey and Glasgow and helping give something back to the communities in the places we call home.
Outside work, life revolves around a house full of teenage sons and trying to keep up with them. Whether it's rugby, tennis or golf, there's always usually a match, game or 'friendly' competition happening. The challenge now is staying fit enough to keep up with them, and recovering in time to make it back into the office!
